Wudang Tai Chi Shines Globally on First International Tai Chi Day

On March 21, 2026, the themed exhibition performance for the inaugural "International Tai Chi Day" at the Shiyan venue, together with the "Hundred Countries, Thousand Cities, Ten Thousand Venues" Cloud Taichi Global Flash Mob event, was successfully held at Yuzhen Palace on Mount Wudang in Shiyan, Hubei Province.

Centered on the theme of "Wudang for the World, Tai Chi for Humanity", the event was co-hosted by the Wushu Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hubei Province, and the People's Government of Shiyan City. It built a bridge for cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries with Tai Chi as the link, promoting the spread of Wudang Tai Chi culture to the global stage.

A four-level joint publicity system covering the central, provincial, municipal and district levels was constructed for the event. It accurately connected with more than 100 Chinese and foreign media outlets and provided customized shooting services. Meanwhile, a diverse publicity lineup was formed, including top internet influencers such as Fang Qi, a Thai tourism influencer group and local self-media influencers of Wudang, creating a comprehensive communication synergy across all circles. During the event, the opening ceremony was live-streamed on 36 media platforms, and the tutorial video of the "Nine Forms of Wudang Tai Chi" was released globally for the first time, linking Tai Chi lovers from five continents to perform synchronously and setting off a global upsurge of Tai Chi exchanges.

By March 23, more than 600 original reports and over 4,000 media reprints of the event-related content had been released on major central mainstream media and various commercial platforms, with the total views at home and abroad exceeding 1.25 billion. Among them, the Cloud Taichi flash mob video was launched on more than 500 well-known overseas media outlets including the Associated Press and Reuters, with overseas views surpassing 420 million. The event also won high recognition from relevant departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, and related content was reposted and promoted by overseas official accounts, successfully realizing a historic leap of Wudang Tai Chi culture from a top domestic hit to an international mainstream leader.

In the future, Mount Wudang will continue to amplify the brand effect of "Wudang for the World, Tai Chi for Humanity", promote the long-term and international dissemination of Wudang Tai Chi culture. It will let this cultural treasure containing Eastern philosophical wisdom and health concepts shine continuously on the global stage, and deepen cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and foreign countries with culture as a bridge.
