Wuhan's largest lantern festival will last until March

The 10th Wuhan Garden Expo Park Lantern Festival began its trial lighting at 18:00 on January 28th. As Wuhan's largest annual event in terms of scale and the number of lantern sets, this year's festival features a 3,200-meter dazzling corridor and 70 giant lantern sets, creating the most spectacular "River of Lights" landscape in its history. Nearly 10,000 visitors entered the park to admire the lanterns on the very first day.

The 10th Wuhan Garden Expo Park Lantern Festival, themed “Galloping Horses Usher in the Spring, Myriad Lights Illuminate the River City”, presents citizens and tourists a splendid Spring Festival cultural feast that integrates cultural heritage, technological light and shadow effects, and human warmth.

This lantern festival deeply integrates intangible cultural heritage lantern-making craftsmanship with modern light and shadow technology. Taking the culture of the Yangtze River as its thread, it connects the historical folk customs and urban spirit of the Jingchu Region, allowing visitors to experience the majestic momentum of "Great Yangtze, Great Rivers, Great Wuhan" amid the dazzling, colorful glow of lights.

Since its first edition in 2016, the Wuhan Garden Expo Park Lantern Festival has been successfully held for nine consecutive sessions. With its profound cultural connotation and stunning visual presentations, it has been recognized as one of the "Top Ten Lantern Festivals in China" and featured on CCTV three times, growing into a highly representative cultural IP and a shining city card of Wuhan during the Spring Festival.

This lantern festival is situated in the area surrounding Chushui in the southern section of Wuhan Garden Expo Park, covering Zhongle Garden and the core exhibition garden areas. Five themed zones have been meticulously created, with nearly 70 colored lantern installations laid out in succession and boasting a host of remarkable highlights.

It is reported that the 10th Wuhan Garden Expo Park Lantern Festival will run until March 22, 2026, with daily lighting hours from 18:00 to 22:00. During the festival, the entry closing time for the East Gate and South Gate 1 will be extended to 21:00.
